Day-to-day Info

“Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later.”

Og Mandino

The school operates across two sites: School times:
Lake Building (Reception and Year One classes) 8:50am to 3:20pm
Francis Building (Year Two classes and Breakfast Club) 9am to 3:30pm
All children access school for 32.5 hours per week.

P.E.

We ask that each child has a PE kit consisting of white t-shirt, black shorts, leggings or tracksuit trousers and white or black plimsolls. (The teachers from your child’s class will let you know when trainers are needed.) Some classes will be asked to wear their PE kits to school for the day.

Parents will be informed of which days their child's class will have PE via Termly Year Group Newsletters.

Home Reading Book Changes

ALL children will be bringing home THREE books each week: ONE reading practice book that they have read at school and TWO sharing books from our book corners to read for pleasure with you or to you!

The reading practice book will be sent home in your child’s book bag on Thursday each week. The book will then need to be returned on Monday.

School Uniform

All children are required to come to school in uniform. They should look smart, tidy and clean. We ask that the children wear red sweatshirts or cardigans, grey skirts, pinafores, trousers or shorts and white or red polo shirts or t-shirts. Shoes should be black or red. In the summer we ask that children wear closed toe sandals at all times.

School uniform does not need to be branded with the school logo.

School uniform can be purchased on line by following this link:
Dulwich Village Uniform

Alternatively items can be purchased from well known supermarkets and department stores.

The PTFA also holds second hand uniform sales and uniform may be purchased through the KiDSiE app. Orders will be available the Monday or Friday AFTER you order and can be collected from Lake reception by 9.15am on these days. You can download KiDSiE on App Store and Google Play (or www.kidsie.shop) and view DVIS items under the School Uniform.

The school has a NO JEWELLERY policy other than allowing simple studs for those who have their ears pierced.

Lost Property

There are lost property trolleys on each site inside the main building near the main offices. Please ask if you would like to look through this. The school looks through the lost property for named items and successfully returns this to each child. If it is not labelled then it remains in lost property until claimed. At the end of the year remaining items are taken to a local charity shop.

pdflogoPermissions Form

Parents are asked to sign an agreement when joining the school to advise us as to whether your child should or should not appear on the school website or any other publication in school. (No names are used in these situations). Please call the office if you have not signed this or if you have changed your mind. Thank you.

Communications

The school is reducing the amount of paper it uses and will be emailing parents with almost all of our our communications. We also have a texting service which will occasionally be used to issue reminders to your phones regarding dates, events or even school closure. Please ensure the school has your most up to date email address and mobile number.

Absence

In case of absence – please ensure you ring the school office on your child’s first day of absence to inform them of the reason for absence. The school does not promote holidays being taken during term time. Any requests for absence for school for any reason should be put in writing to the Headteacher. See our Absence policy on the Policy Documents page.

If you need to request an absence during term time please complete the absence request form below and return by email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
