Pupil Teams
At DVIS we aim to support children in their understanding of their responsibilities for the School community as well as for others. This not only helps ourselves to flourish but others too. It is wonderful to have the children involved in caring for their community as it allows us to see our values in action!
We offer opportunities within the school day for the children to be involve, these include:
The DVIS School Council – the aim of this group is to make DVIS an even better place. We do this by giving the children the opportunity to have their thoughts, feelings and opinions heard and know that they count. The children meet regularly to work on different ways to improve our school. We listen to our classmates and make sure that we represent the whole pupil voice when making changes.
If you can think of things we can do to make our school an even happier place, please speak to us and we will make it happen!
Playground support – Children at DVIS may become Playground Buddies – helping others play and finding them friends to connect with. Mediators and Mentors are there to help practically at lunchtime and work with other children helping them play well and enjoy a fun break together.
Worship Leaders – this is a group of children who help lead worship each day, they use our school liturgy as well as being an active part of the worship, leading singing and prayers.
Class helpers – each year group has a couple of children that are there to help in class each day whether that is to hand out the fruit, lead the lines in and out of class or set up the resources needed for learning.
