Our Curriculum
At DVIS we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (2021), focusing on:
Prime Areas: Communication & Language, Physical Development, Personal, Social & Emotional Development.
Specific Areas: Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, Expressive Arts & Design.
How We Learn
At DVIS we learn through:
Children making independent choices and exploring indoors and outdoors daily.
Adults observing, interacting and guiding learning through play and conversation.
Planning that is collaborative, based on observations and the children’s interests.
Assessments which are ongoing, supported by parent input and termly checks.
Outdoor Learning
Our wonderful large Reception garden is an extension of the classroom, offering space for active, hands-on learning, problem-solving and imaginative play.
