Why We Need Help
At Dulwich Village Church of England Infants School we believe in supporting learning with the widest possible range of experiences and resources. Our creative curriculum at DVIS is not a luxury – it is essential. It supports the whole child: mind, body and spirit. It shapes young people who are curious, resilient, empathetic, ready to engage with the world and become life-long learners.
Over the last few years, the school’s running costs have risen consistently, but government funding has not kept pace. Continuing to offer our broad range of creative activities (including music and art) is an ongoing challenge.
In addition, as a Church of England State School we have direct financial responsibility for the upkeep of our buildings on both sites. Some of our buildings date back to Victorian times and maintaining all school facilities is costly.
We are actively fundraising to help us continue offering a broad curriculum to enable all DVIS children to flourish in an appropriate environment. All contributions are warmly received and appreciated.
There are three main ways of supporting us with financial donations: through the PTFA, via the Governors’ Fund or A Gift in Your Will.
-
We are lucky to have a very active PTFA who run a whole range of events both to raise money and strengthen a feeling of community. Their support contributes to specific one-off appeals (e.g., building the Summer House) and annual funding, for things like: school trip coaches, Doodlemaths subscriptions and the Christmas Panto).

Gift Aid can be added to all donations to the PTFA

The Governors’ fund is primarily used to cover much-needed maintenance of the school buildings.
These items are not as exciting as new playgrounds and school trips, but a safe and well-maintained building is completely essential to learning. Recent examples include the refurbishment of the kitchen, new ceilings in the Francis Building, and the underpinning of the floor in the Francis Building.
As a Voluntary Aided Church of England school, we ask parents for an annual voluntary contribution to this Fund’. However, donations are welcome from any supporter: alumni, business, grandparent, carer, who wish to give via bank transfer. Some generously support with a monthly contribution through a regular standing order.
If you would like further details about how to donate in this way, please contact the school office on office@dulwichvillage.southwark.sch.uk
Gift Aid can be added to Governors’ Fund donations. This form can be found here: LINK needs to be added

DVIS has been fortunate to benefit from past bequests. Even a small gift in your will, once your family and friends have been looked after, can play an important part in supporting future generations. If you do kindly remember the school in this way please include our full name: Dulwich Village C of E Infants School and always consider obtaining professional impartial advice.
