Our Worship

“Collective worship is the heartbeat of Dulwich Infants. It is an extremely joyful experience with a high level of energetic engagement for all who attend. Because of meticulous planning, based on the teachings of Jesus, worship is highly innovative and creative. The values are appropriately and very effectively demonstrated through songs, actions and words that especially appeal to younger pupils. Worship therefore has a major impact on the spiritual development of the whole school community.”

Collective Worship

In school time, we meet for collective worship each day. During this season when we are not able to meet as a school, there are ideas for home reflection on our home learning pages.
You could also have a go at leading (or encouraging the children to lead) “Thankfulness” or “Values Celebration” worship at home by using some simple outlines that you can find on this page.

Monday – Our week starts with thankfulness. We reflect on and share all the things we want to thank God for in our lives and the good things we see in other people’s lives too. Try it at home! Thankfulness Worship Outline document

Tuesday – We listen to a bible story or passage, think about who Jesus is and what difference that makes to us in our lives. This may follow a theme or an aspect of the Church calendar.

Wednesday – We reflect on what we have learnt or talked about in worship the day before. What does that mean to me personally? How might that affect the way I treat others?

Thursday – We meet to remember the values we share and ask God to help us in showing these in all parts of our lives. Try it at home! Values Celebration Worship Outline document

Friday – We worship through praise - a Praise Party, a rousing worship time together as a whole school! Try it at home using your own choice of our favourite worship songs further down the page.

We also encourage children to use the peace garden (a fenced area at the back of the playground) to think and pray if they would like to. There are pictures of Christian symbols, and some paper and pencils for children to write ways that help them remember Jesus. There are two wooden crosses where their ideas can be made tangible: either placing a straw into the holes of one cross or weaving a ribbon into the mesh of another. Why not create your own peace garden or peace corner at home?

Every member of the school community is welcome to join our worship. If you are a parent or carer we would love to see you! Worship is from 1:15pm to 1:30pm every day. Please contact the school office if you would like to worship with us.

The Lords Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
